🚗 GAS PRICES

Idaho gas prices are rising again. AAA reports today’s average for regular is $3.53, up 5 cents overnight and 11 cents from last month. That’s still 10 cents cheaper than this time last year. Idaho currently ranks 7th highest in the nation.


👨‍⚖️ LEGISLATURE

A new Idaho legislative task force is reviewing child custody laws after complaints from parents. Lawmakers aim to clarify court procedures and address concerns over abusive co-parents, expensive legal battles, and parental consent gaps. Public meetings continue monthly through October.


🛒 ALBERTSONS LABOR DEAL

A strike may be avoided as Albertsons and union leaders reached a tentative agreement. Thousands of grocery workers will vote in the coming weeks. Both sides are urging a “yes” vote to prevent a work stoppage.


⚖ FILER TEACHER TRIAL

The trial of Jacob Mishler, a former Filer teacher accused of raping a relative in 2012, is underway in Twin Falls. The accuser testified yesterday; the defense questioned the 12-year delay in reporting. Testimony resumes today at 8:30 a.m.


🚓 JEROME ROLLOVER

A driver sustained minor injuries in a rollover crash on Golf Course Road in Jerome County last night. The SUV flipped just after 8:15 p.m. First responders reduced traffic to one lane during cleanup.


🏛 COUNCIL INVOCATIONS

Twin Falls City Council is now offering monthly invocations at meetings. Nine local residents and faith leaders have volunteered. The city joins Jerome and Burley in adopting the practice.


🔥 WILDFIRE TRACKING

New satellite technology may soon help Idaho firefighters track and predict wildfires in real time. The “Wildfire Solution” platform uses 24/7 orbiting satellites to detect hotspots and forecast spread in remote areas.


🇺🇸 AMERICA250 GRANTS

The Twin Falls Historic Preservation Commission, whose $25,000 America250 grant was recently canceled, can now reapply for up to $2,500. The grants fund parades, exhibits, and community events ahead of America’s 250th birthday on July 4, 2026.


🚦 RED-LIGHT CAMERAS

Boise has canceled its red-light camera pilot program after Senate Bill 1180 went into effect. The new law restricts license plate reader use to crash investigations—not for issuing citations.

Former Idaho Vandal player and coach Dan Cozzetto has died at age 70. He was part of four Big Sky titles, helped mentor NFL talents, and coached at top programs, including the 49ers. His impact on Idaho football was profound.

CSI catcher Brielle Milius is transferring to Ball State University after leading CSI to back-to-back NJCAA World Series appearances. She batted .256, posted a .396 OBP, and had a .976 fielding percentage.

  • Events tailored by age group, drawing riders from across Idaho.
