This morning, reports confirm a possible fatal crash on I-84 eastbound near Idahome Road. The accident was reported just before 4 a.m.
Firefighters have fully contained the 40-acre Red Cabin Fire, which broke out Friday evening about 10 miles south of Oakley. Officials now expect the fire to be fully controlled by 8 p.m. tonight.
Firefighters are close to containing the Split Top Fire, which has burned over 5,400 acres of grass and brush west of Aberdeen. Itβs 80% contained.

In 4A, Kimberly kicks off against Fruitland at 7, and Filer shut out Wendell 61β0. In 3A, Declo beat Teton 32β12. And in 2A, Grace overpowered Oakley 52β6. Most other teams begin play next week.
The Twin Falls Bruins fell just short in their season opener, losing 28-27 to Sandpoint after leading 21-7 in the third quarter. Ty Hess, Adam Neil Dewit, and Brogan Bruns found the end zone for Twin Falls. Up next, the Bruins host Vallivue Friday at 7, while Sandpoint travels to face Teton at 5.
Over the weekend in soccer β Burley boys edged Century 1-0 with Julian Cardenas scoring the lone goal. The Bobcats host Pocatello today. On the girlsβ side, Century rolled past Burley 6-1, with Emely Magana netting the Bobcatsβ only score.
Kimberly and Skyline battled early in a top-five 4A matchup, trading scores in the first quarter. But the Grizzlies pulled away in the second half, piling on touchdowns and sealing a 49β13 win over the Bulldogs.
In a 2A top-five showdown, Hagerman struck back with an 85-yard score from Casen Knight after Logos opened the game. But the Knights dominated from there with big plays on both sides of the ball, rolling past the Pirates 34β8.
Local riders of all ages turned out Saturday at the Buhl Rodeo Grounds for a gymkhana event, with more than 15 contestants racing through timed obstacle courses. Organizer Kristy Orr says the goal is to bring families together to enjoy horses and riding.

Idaho womenβs soccer played to a 0-0 draw with Stonehill Saturday as goalie Paula Flores notched her third shutout of the season with six saves. The Vandals return home Thursday to face Washington State at the Kibbie Dome.
Idaho State womenβs soccer edged CSU Bakersfield 1-0 Sunday at Davis Field. Samantha Fenske scored in the 39th minute, while freshman keeper Hannah Wieler made four savesβincluding a penalty stopβfor her first career shutout. The Bengals are 2-0-1, their best start since 2012.
