πŸ₯Ž BURLEY BOBCATS WIN FIRST DISTRICT TITLE

The Burley Bobcats are district softball champions for the first time in school history after sweeping Twin Falls yesterday in the Great Basin Conference title series. Burley rolled to a 13-5 win in game one behind four hits from Ady Olmos and a strong complete-game performance from Lindsey Tarbet.

In game two, the Bobcats survived an eight-inning thriller, winning 8-7 on a walk-off RBI single from Olmos. Twin Falls had taken the lead in the seventh on a three-run homer from Kaitlyn Hudson, but Burley answered to force extras before sealing the championship in the eighth.

Both Burley and Twin Falls now head to the 5A State Tournament next weekend in Post Falls. Elsewhere in softball, Glenns Ferry beat Greenleaf Friends 15-7 in district play, while Wendell faces Ririe and Gooding takes on South Fremont tomorrow at state.

⚾ CSI BASEBALL FACES ELIMINATION GAME

The College of Southern Idaho baseball team fell to Salt Lake 14-2 yesterday in the opening game of the Region 18 Championship series. CSI now faces a win-or-go-home matchup today at 4 p.m., with a victory forcing a deciding game tomorrow.

The 19th-ranked College of Southern Idaho softball team crushed North Idaho Thursday, winning 14-1 and 13-0 in conference play. Marissa Mauger threw a no-hit shutout in game two, while the Golden Eagles blasted five home runs on the day.
