IMMIGRATION LEGISLATION PUSH
A group of Idaho lawmakers is rolling out a package of immigration bills, including proposals to track undocumented inmates and students, require employers to use E-Verify, and expand cooperation with federal immigration officials. Supporters say the bills protect human rights and public resources, while the ACLU of Idaho says they would harm immigrant families.
SOLAR POWER AT HOME
Idaho lawmakers are advancing a bill that would allow residents to use plug-in solar generators at home. Supporters say the units, already used in Europe and parts of the U.S., would expand clean energy options while meeting safety standards. Utilities say they support the proposal as it moves through the Legislature.
SCHOOL CLOSURES & SCHEDULES
The Glenns Ferry School District has canceled classes for today due to a high volume of illness among students and staff. Schools will reopen on a two-hour delay tomorrow, with bus pick-ups running two hours later than normal.
Parents packed Frontier Elementary in Jerome to learn more about a possible four-day school week. The Jerome School District says itβs reviewing several calendar options for future years, as leaders gather community feedback before making any decisions.

Founder Jerry Wortley says the race will have no future events, calling it a difficult but necessary decision after years of community support.
OLYMPICS UPDATE
Idahoβs on top of the Olympic podium. Breezy Johnson won gold in womenβs downhill at the 2026 Winter Olympics, edging the field by just four-hundredths of a second. After missing 2022 with injury, sheβs now an Olympic champion and races again today with Mikaela Shiffrin in the team event.
