Over the weekend, police in Twin Falls arrested those responsible for allegedly threatening violence against the Twin Falls school district. The threats through social media targeted events that were to happen today according to police. Expect to see additional police presence to district campuses. Similar threats were made in other districts in Idaho and other states.

Bryan Kohberger, the man accused of killing four University of Idaho students, has been transferred from Moscow, Idaho to the Ada County Jail in Boise. Kohberger was taken to Boise on the Idaho State Police plane. He arrived at the Boise airport yesterday morning. His quadruple murder trial is expected to begin next year.

Local interest in charter schools is growing. More students’ names are appearing on several school’s wait lists. Xavier Charter School usually gives prospective families five tours a month, but now officials say it is becoming a weekly routine.

Idaho worker earnings and family incomes are rising faster than most states in the nation. Idaho’s median family income rose 2.7% to more than $91,000, from 2022 to 2023 the fourth highest growth rate of all states. Idaho’s median worker earnings also rose 3%, ranking seventh in the nation for its rate of growth. But Idaho workers’ fast-growing earnings of $40,098 per year was still the 45th lowest in the nation.

The Wapiti Fire has burned 125,459 acres, and at last check, crews had completed 29% of containment and confinement efforts. The Chimney Fire has burned 6,519 acres and is 21% contained.

The Idaho Law Foundation and Attorneys for Civic Education are hosting a Constitution Day event tomorrow for Idaho teachers, students, attorneys and members of the public. Constitution Day is a federal observance that recognizes the day delegates to the Constitutional Convention signed the document on Sept. 17, 1787. The event will be at 12:30 tomorrow at the Idaho State Capitol, Lincoln Auditorium.

Portland State was to have a game Saturday against South Dakota, but it was canceled due to a illness within Portland’s program. The illness reported is whooping cough. The Portland State Vikings making a statement that a few team members were exposed to the disease two days ago. So far no team member is reporting being sick.

The fourth-ranked Vandals dominated every aspect of the game, jumped to an early lead and rolled No. 17 UAlbany 41-13 Saturday afternoon at the Kibbie Dome in Moscow. The Vandals never trailed, scoring a touchdown on their first drive, driving the field 80 yards in just 1:39 and capped off with a 12-yard Jack Wagner pass to Jordyn Dwyer.

The CSI Men's soccer club got off to fast start en route to their 3-0 victory over Pacific Northwest Christian Saturday afternoon. The Golden Eagles scored their first two goals within just two minutes of each other. The Golden Eagles will now gear up for their conference home opener on Thursday against Colorado Northwestern.

The CSI Women's soccer club continued their perfect start in Scenic West play as they beat Pacific Northwest Christian 4-0 Saturday afternoon. The win marks the third straight for the Goden Eagles as they will finally return home next week to take on Colorado Northwestern.

Richfield downed Hansen 44 to 38. It was valley over Hagerman 56 to 40. Richfield said not tonight to Hansen 44 to 38. Homedale defeated Kimberly 47 to 21. Minico defeated Jerome 41 to 7. Canyon Ridge outlasted Mountain Home 26 to 6. Raft River over Oakley 44 to 32. Aberdeen shut the door on Wendell 51 to 0.

On today’s schedule for local games, for Boys Soccer Buhl travels to Declo, Bliss to Gooding, Wendell to Kimberly, Filer is on the bus to the Sun Valley Community school and for the girls Buhl goes to Declo and Wendell to Kimberly.

For Volleyball action, Raft River travels to Glenns Ferry, Oakley is in Twin Falls to play Lighthouse Christian, Shoshone goes to the Sun Valley Community School, Camas County goes to Castleford and Carey heads to Hansen. Hagerman goes to Murtaugh, Dietrich to Richfield.
